Glendale UMC Community Garden

The Community Garden space is offered by Glendale UMC for purpose of providing the opportunity for area gardeners to have a place for their own garden plot. It is our desire to provide this garden project so that people of the community can enjoy their gardening hobby. The gardens also present a learning opportunity for children. The Glendale Community Garden located adjacent to the Glendale United Methodist at, 13550 Glendale Rd, Savage, MN. For more information pleased call 952-233-5283.
The Community Garden is now taking applications for garden plots, applications are available in the church office. The garden plots are open to the community, church membership is not a requirement to have a garden plot. You may have more than one 4'x4’ plot. The gardens consist of raised bed plots and will use the gardening techniques outlined in the book, “Square Foot Gardening” by Mel Bartholomew. Gardens offer the opportunity to grow your own flowers or vegetables while enjoying outdoor activity. Garden members will be responsible for the initial cost of the raised bed materials and the soil mix. The other costs involve a $15 fee, per 4'x4’ plot, for water, payable to Glendale UMC. The “Square Foot Gardening” techniques do not require any rototilling or large garden tools, a garden trowel, a five gallon bucket for water storage, and seeds are about all that are needed to maintain the plot.
Applications are available in the office of Glendale United Methodist Church.
